Gallbladder Treatment

Gallbladder Treatment with Medication

In milder cases, treatment for gallbladder disease may include lifestyle changes and medication. However, if your symptoms get worse, your doctor may recommend surgery to remove your gallbladder. Surgery to remove the gallbladder is known as a cholecystectomy.  Your gallbladder is similiar to your tonsils.  It serves a purpose but we can live without it.

Gallbladder Surgery (Cholecystectomy)

Cholecystectomy can be performed using open surgery but at New York Bariatrics & Laparoscopy, we perform the most minimally invasive gallbladder surgery performing laparoscopic gallbladder surgery or a SINGLE INCISION through your belly button (navel) leaving you virtually no scars.  This procedure is called da Vinci Single-Site Gallbladder Surgery.
